I tightened mine up from the factory setting to about .032". It worked great and gave me great efficiency (80-85%) for about three years and has been slowly wearing out over the last year or so.

Mine is set at the factory default (0.039", I believe), and I've never messed with it. I'm finally going to move forward with my first Hefeweizen next weekend and I'd like to get a finer crush on the wheat compared to the pils malt.

Next time I'm going to run my grist through twice at .050" and see how it looks and works. I have done wet conditioning as well and it does help.
